DOGS Unlimited faced a unique marketing challenge after Alan Davison purchased the 30-year-old company in 2005. The question was how to re-brand a well-established business without losing its loyal customers. It was critical to convey that DOGS Unlimited’s commitment to high-quality products and great customer service would remain unchanged. The new logo incorporated the familiar paw print from the previous identity thus maintaining a measure of consistency and brand recognition. This was followed by a successful new website that strengthened DOGS Unlimited’s business model and overall customer satisfaction. Third was creating targeted print advertising campaigns run in Pointing Dog Journal, Gun Dog Magazine, and several other magazines. The ads focused on the reliability of DOGS Unlimited’s products and customer satisfaction and drove customers to the web site originally designed by TSC.
