Company Profile
Empire Rifles

The Empire Rifle Company had a premium-quality product: hunting rifles patterned along classic British lines combining exquisite aesthetics, agile handling and pinpoint accuracy. What George Sandmann’s new company needed was a “name” in an already extremely competitive marketplace—a formidable challenge to say the least.

Understanding that Empire Rifle’s prospective buyers represented a knowledgeable and savvy audience, TSC embarked on a half-page print campaign run in publications such as Safari Magazine, Sporting Classics and Sports Afield. Utilizing close-up photography to showcase the fine craftsmanship of Empire’s Legacy Mauser-action rifles, the ads successfully caught buyers’ attention. The sparse use of advertising copy also enabled the company’s logo to stand out and begin building brand recognition.

The ads shown to the left are the third set since the original campaign in 2003. While introducing new rifles, these ads continue to reinforce the Empire brand by emphasizing the stylization established in the preceding ads. Photography credits and thanks to Dennis Griggs.
